Collectables resale in Glasgow
We identify, research and present suitable boxed, retired, scarce or vintage toys and games, then manage the sale and secure dispatch.
A small variation, original box, missing accessory or production date can make a large difference to a collectable’s value. Generic listings often miss the search terms and photographs serious buyers use to choose between examples.
The Selling Butler helps Glasgow owners sell collectable toys, games and hobby items without researching and listing each piece themselves. We identify versions where possible, record completeness and condition honestly, then list on the marketplace with the strongest relevant buyer audience.
The best candidates are retired, boxed, complete, scarce or in strong collector condition. Common loose toys, incomplete low-value games and heavily damaged items are usually unsuitable for a managed commission sale.
Sealed or complete building sets, vintage figures, playsets and recognised character ranges.
Older consoles, boxed games, special editions and gaming hardware with collector demand.
Die-cast models, specialist toys and selected authenticated or clearly identified card collections.
As a guide, each accepted item should have an expected resale value of at least £40 and be genuine, clean, safe and saleable.
No listing fee and nothing to pay upfront. Our share covers valuation, research, photography, listing, storage, messages, packing and dispatch.
Payout percentages apply to net item proceeds after unavoidable marketplace seller fees. Buyer-paid postage is excluded. The expected range and split are agreed before listing.
Feedback from customers who handed the selling process over to Gavin.
“So much easier than selling it all myself”
“I had a pile of decent clothes and a few other bits that I’d been meaning to sell for months. Gavin took everything away, sorted the listings and dealt with all the messages. I basically didn’t have to do anything. Would definitely use him again.”
“Saved me a lot of time”
“I’d sold on eBay before and just couldn’t be bothered with the photos, questions and posting everything again. Gavin explained how it worked, took the items and kept me updated as things sold. Really easy from start to finish.”
“Ideal if you’ve got good stuff sitting around”
“We had a mix of jackets, trainers, electronics and some old collectables that were just taking up space. Gavin went through everything with us and was upfront about what was worth selling and what wasn’t. A few weeks later most of it was gone and we’d made a decent amount back.”
Consignment works when every stage is clear. Accepted items are recorded, the pricing approach is agreed, and you receive the sold price and payout information.
We collect suitable batches across Bearsden, Milngavie and Glasgow’s West End, then use detailed online listings to reach collectors beyond the local area.
Photograph the item, packaging, maker’s marks, model numbers and included parts. If there are many items, start with an overview and close-ups of the pieces you believe are most valuable.
Check your items and areaNot always, but original packaging and completeness often improve demand and value. Unboxed items may still be suitable when they are scarce, identifiable and in strong condition.
Start with overview photographs and any known brands, dates or ranges. We can then identify which parts merit individual research and whether a collection appointment is worthwhile.
Selected cards or collections may be suitable where they can be clearly identified, assessed and expected to meet the minimum resale value. We do not assume authenticity or grade from a photograph alone.
